About Danièle
Ryman and the use of
aromatherapy to combat the effects of
jet-lag.
In the early 1980's Danièle was
the first to research and develop a range of aromatherapy products
and treatments, to help passengers and airline crew
members combat the effects of jetlag and travel fatigue with
natural aromatherapy products, alleviating symptoms of dry pressurised
cabin air and creating a general feeling of well-being.
These products and programmes were introduced to 15
of her airline clients including: British
Airways ('Well being in the Air' programme), Virgin Atlantic, Malaysia
Airlines, Air New Zealand, Lufthansa and Aero Mexico.
Approximately
52 million passengers and airline crews have
been 'treated' with Danièle's products. She has won
numerous international industry awards for her
work, as well as the coveted Courvoisier Award for
the 'Best Innovative Products'.

Combating jetlag naturally, with aromatherapy.
When
traveling across a number of time zones, the body clock goes out of
sync with the destination time, and so it experiences daylight and
darkness contrary to the rhythms it has grown accustomed to. The body's
natural pattern therefore becomes upset as the rhythms which dictate
when you should eat and sleep no longer correspond to the environment
of your destination. This is where aromatherapy can help.
Jet lag occurs
because the body cannot automatically realign these rhythms. The speed
at which your body readjusts itself to new daylight and darkness hours
and eating and sleeping patterns is entirely dependent upon the individual.
So while it may take a few days for certain people to readjust to a
new time zone, others seem to experience little disruption to their
body's natural sleeping pattern.
In order to combat jetlag, Danièle
recommends that you follow a few basic principles before, during and
after your flight; take plenty of exercise during the flight by walking
up and down the aisle; avoiding both alcohol and caffeine; and consume
plenty of water to stave off dehydration.
Danièle also maintains the importance of harmonizing your ‘senses’ through
natural aromatherapy remedies and products, especially those developed
from high quality natural plant extracts, to combat this ‘syndrome’.
Such products will help not only your physical elements to acclimatise
to the drastic change in environment once airborne, but also synchronize
your mind, putting you at ease with the surroundings.
This ‘psychology of the senses’ is the ‘science
of aromas’: Armacology. Through the application and
inhalation of certain natural products, jetlag can be combated naturally,
whilst also helping to enhance your physical and emotional condition.
Danièle’s
personal portfolio of aromatherapy products are therefore ideal for
travellers, all of which focus on the key areas of the body most at
risk from jetlag.
